The water heater is one of the most expensive appliances in your home, and more often than not the most neglected
To save on energy costs, and to lengthen the life of your water heater, regular maintenance is necessary. Preventative maintenance is much more cost effective than a new water heater, properly taken care of, a water heater can last 15-20 years or more.
We service gas and electric water heaters, which include servicing elements, thermostats, thermocouples, temperature pressure relief valves, sacrficial anode rods, and flushing or replacement of the water heater. If your water heater needs replaced, we will install a new one and haul the old one away for you.
If you have a leaky faucet, call The Maintenance Shop to repair or replace it for you. If not repaired or replaced right away it could cause severe damage to cabinet floors, cause mold, and corrode the faucet so badly that it will literally have to be cut off to be replaced, most often in several pieces.
We once came upon a faucet leaking for so long that water accumulated under the shut-off vavles on the flooring underneath the cabinets creating a horrible smell and mold issue from the air conditioning ducting that is under most kitchen cabinets.
A repair can be considerably less expensive to fix if gotten to early enough before major water damage has occured.
If your kitchen and bath sinks have become pitted, scratched, or the enamel has chipped, give us a call and we can replace the sinks for you. A new kitchen or bath sink can actually change the look of the room without costing you a fortune. Many of our customers change their sinks and faucets at the same time which is the most economical way to go in the long run.
Is your toilet leaking from the tank or bowl? Does it "run" continually, or shut off and fill again? Is your toilet clogged? Is there water around the base of your toilet when you flush? If the rubber garbage disposal splace guard is damaged, let us replace it for you. If ignored, silverware and other objects could end up in the disposal damaging the motor, flywheel, and impeller blades. Disposal clogged? We can get the clog out. If your garbage disposal is leaking or has rusted out, The Maintenance Shop can replace it for you.
Is your water softener old and not functioning as well as it should? Give us a call to repair or replace it for you. If your home has been plumbed for a water softener, and you would like one installed we can do that as well. Water softeners can prolong the life of water using appliances such as coffee makers, washing machines, dishwashers, and water heaters. You can save 25% or more on water heater energy costs by softening the water with a water softener.
We can repair your leaking shower and tub valves. The Maintenance Shop can also install new shower and tub valves assemblies, Many times we replace the tub and shower valves when we re-tile a bathroom so everything is brand new!
If you have a clogged kitchen or bath sink, do not use a plunger! Although a plunger can do wonders on a clogged toilet, you could create a worse problem by pushing the clog deeper into the drain in a kitchen or bath sink. Is the hose bib on your house leaking? Don't try to stop the drip by turning the handle too tightly. You can damage it to the point where a replacement is necessary. Call The Maintenance Shop and we can repair your hose bib. If it is damaged beyond repair, we can replace it for you as well.
