Sprinkler System Update For Tuesday, May 28, 2019

This may be my last post regarding sprinkler start-ups themselves, because we only have about a dozen left, and most of them are for a property management company.  We will continue to get more start-ups I am sure, but the will be coming at a slow enough pace we can deal with all of them directly.  However, if you were expecting a start-up from us, and we haven’t gotten to you by the end of the day today, drop me a text or email.  So far we have had only two people sign up where we didn’t get their form, and I believe both were using iPhones, which our system doesn’t seem to like.

I haven’t been sick for nearly three years, but Saturday afternoon I started feeling miserable so went home cutting my backflow testing short and went straight to bed.  I slept nearly the entire day Sunday missing church, and then Monday as well.  The only nourishment that I managed to ingest was NyQuil.

Hopefully I will be in good enough shape on Tuesday to take care of several backflow tests, and do a few solenoid and valve repairs.  We still have plenty of work to do.  Jesse will be clearing a dryer vent tomorrow along with his start-ups, and then once start-ups are complete we will be working on several major repairs including several systems that need the main and drain replaced, several backflow preventers that need replaced, and then siding repairs, exterior doors to install, a few houses to paint, etc.

We are still looking for someone to help with our workload, but have yet to get any applicants.  Either we are asking for more knowledge than should be expected, or no one needs a job.

We are also looking at another air compressor today to add to our collection, so we can reach more homes faster as we keep growing.  Last year we had 537 cancellations, even after doing nearly 2,000 blowouts, so hopefully we can keep that number lower this season.  Of course, we have to find confident help to run the machine.  I am picky on how are blowouts are done, which is why we nearly double every year with business.

If you know of anyone with some mad sprinkler skills send them our way!

We haven’t started putting our route together yet. That will be done on October 5-6 to prepare for our October 7 start date. We will be starting in the Meridian 83646 as we always do each year, but what exactly will be covered and when I can’t tell you yet. Just keep an eye on our calendar, and if there is anything important that needs to be added it will be posted on this blog.
