Sprinkler Start-Ups And More For 2020

Coronavirus

We have been designated essential during this virus outbreak, but we are taking precautions as a family business, especially since my wife and I have compromised immune systems, and being a family business, all of our staff live in the same home.  We are currently not taking on any inside work of a home or business unless it is a plumbing emergency such as water leak, water heaters, broken or non-working faucet or shower/tub, garbage disposal, dishwasher, etc., or security-related such as non-working locks or lockouts.

Any jobs outside of the home or business are being scheduled.  This includes sprinkler work, sprinkler timers that are in the garage or outside, backflow repair and testing, fence work, siding, fascia, soffits, gutters, lawn aeration, overseeding, window screens, etc.

Sprinkler Start-Ups

We hope to begin sprinkler start-ups on city and well systems April 6.  We are waiting for the nightly temperatures to remain in the 40’s consistently before we start this season since many backflows we deal with are above ground.  The likelihood of backflows freezing overnight is lower than slight, but we aren’t taking any chances that we may get a drop in the 20’s.

There are some that signed up for Package “C” that we know are on pressurized irrigation and do not have backflow preventers so they have been changed to Package “A”. Also, any who signed up for Package “D” that we know are on pressurized irrigation will be changed to Package “B” for the same reason.

We will have to wait a week or so for all customers on pressurized irrigation until the water starts flowing which is usually around the 15th.  If you happen to know when the water for your area will be flowing, send us an email or comment here on this blog post so we can schedule accordingly.

Jacob will likely be doing all Package “A” start-ups since they are for turn-ons only with no adjustments.  Jesse will be doing Package “B” and “D” start-ups since they are requiring adjustments, and I will follow behind him within a few days to take care of backflow tests on Package “D”.  I will likely be doing all Package “C” start-ups since they are turn-on only with a backflow test.

Lawn Aeration And Overseeding

Lawn aeration, and especially overseeding, is best when the ground is moist from a previous rain or watering through a sprinkler system, so if we are doing your sprinkler start-up, we will schedule aeration and or overseeding after that time.  Any time during April and again in September is good for aerating.  We will send you an email and a text when we will be coming out.

I was a new customer for sprinkler blowouts last Fall. I believe the young man told me that he would be back this Spring to activate the sprinklers. I was just wondering if you have them setup on zip codes like the blowouts were and when 83704 would be activated. Thanks so much ~ Don Moe
