Sprinkler Blowouts For Tuesday, November 10, 2020

Well, this is the big day! The day prices go up for NEW requests for a sprinkler blowout.  The price increase for all who sign up today and through the end of the month will need to pay an additional $10 for their blowout than ones who signed up before November 10.

We found a few above-ground backflows yesterday that was frozen solid, and had to be heated up to do the blowout.  Fortunately, there was no external damage to any of them, but customers with backflow preventers or pumps on their sprinkler systems are gambling on a chance that they won’t freeze and be damaged.  The simple solution is draining them following the instructions given on our site.  The piping underneath the ground is fine and can be blown out unless the backflow preventer is frozen with no recourse but to wait it out or heat the backflow with a propane torch until the valves and test cocks can be turned.

We will be in Eagle and Boise 83714 today.  As technicians finish their designated areas I will send them over to do some in Boise 83714.  These particular ones will likely not know we are coming as they are just to fill in space and time if there is any left. Here are the routes:

So it looks like you’ve moved out of 83709 again. When will you be back? I’m on Red Shine. Thanks

we haven’t moved the 83709 back at all. We were there with 4 rigs on Monday, we will be back again with one rig on Thursday, and then again on the following Monday. We can’t do 350 blowouts in the largest zip code in the Treasure Valley in one day. We have done 247 there, and currently have about 75 to go which changes daily.

I requested a blowout on 10/28 and haven’t heard anything about when it will occur. My postal code is 83642. Any idea on when this will happen? I am concerned about freezing temps coming soon.

Watch our calendar to see what dates we will be in your zip code. As you read on our site and in our terms of service, you won’t hear from us directly until the night before we are to be at your location. As for freezing temperatures, day temperatures have been warm, so even with night temperatures getting to freezing or below it isn’t going to affect ground temperature where sprinkler piping is located. I don’t expect that to happen for another month if even then. We will even have days next week in the 50’s. Last year I doubt it got to freezing at all underground at the depth where piping is located. I looked ahead on the weather report and we are not going to have ONE day where the air temperature is below freezing. For ground temperatures to reach freezing where piping is we would have to have several days of CONSTANT temperatures below freezing. https://www.accuweather.com/en/us/boise/83702/november-weather/328736

The email I got said that you were going to be doing 83709 on Thursday, but your blog says Eagle and 83714. Please get to Shelborne quickly. I don’t want to have exorbitant repair costs in the spring.

Refresh your page. You are looking at the wrong day. We will be in the zip code today, Monday, and Wednesday, and I am sure some days after that. Three rigs will be there on Monday which will cover a lot of ground. It won’t be cold enough to freeze anything underground for a month if not more because of all the warm days we have had.
