Yesterday went well on sprinkler start-ups. Jacob finished what was our current list in the 83716, and then completed the 83712, and this was after he took care of four in Meridian that I didn’t get to the day before.
I had my Covid Booster shot yesterday, so if there aren’t any side effects to bring me down, I will be out in the field today as well. I am a little leary about scheduling anything for me because some people I know who received their booster were down for the day with symptoms, including my family doctor.
Due to time constraints, I will be working mostly on Package A and C requests since they go the fastest and I can still move about doing estimates for repair work that is coming up after we get a handle on start-ups.
I interviewed an applicant today for our maintenance position and I believe I found a good fit. He is the only one I have seen in a long while that has nearly the same skillset that I do which means I don’t have to take valuable time in training someone. the downside is he won’t be available for a few more weeks, but I am sure we can get by until then.
We will both be working in the 83704 today. We currently have 24 stops, and with two of us, we should be able to do it even though there are several Package D stops that take longer than all the others. Start-ups can take just as much time as a blowout and possibly longer depending on the number of zones and how many adjustments have to be made.
These streets are NOT in order of service this time. Only a showing of what streets we will be on for the day. Although Jacob will be sticking to his route, I will likely skip around to take the easier ones to get them out of the way. I don’t have parts with me since I am only doing Package A and Package C jobs. Jacob has the parts for any light repairs like changing a sprinkler head, etc. I hope we can reach them all today, but whatever we do not get to will be done on Thursday mixed in with the route for the day.
