Sprinkler Start-Ups For Thursday, April 15, 2021

We had an emergency earlier yesterday, so Jacob wasn’t able to finish his route in Meridian so will finish it up today and add a few in the 83709.  Keep in mind we are still working city and well systems only for the time being while we wait for the water to flow for irrigation.  I have heard a few reports that water is flowing now, but we need to wait until more areas are pressurized so we don’t waste time on useless trips.  Case in point, I went to a neighborhood in Meridian today that is on pressurized irrigation to check on several zones that wouldn’t shut off.  I quickly made the repair and went to test my work and there was no water.  It had been shut down within that five minutes I was working on the valves.   This happens a lot at the beginning of the season while repairs are made in the area.

It may seem like it is taking quite a while to take care of the city systems, but another reason we do those first is to get as many of them out of the way as possible because they take a little longer to do.  Once we start with irrigation properties they should go much more quickly, and would only be either Package A or Package B.

These are the streets that Jacob will be visiting in the 83709 today after he finishes up the remainder of his list from yesterday, but not in the correct order.  There aren’t that many, so it shouldn’t make much difference.

I will be spending the day again doing backflow tests and Package A and C start-ups if there is time.  I currently have 9 backflow tests to try and squeeze in from all over Ada county that are time-sensitive with a tag that is soon to expire.

On another note, we were originally going to take a week to do lawn aerations starting the 19th. But, since we are behind on start-ups we may still start the 19th, but scatter them around to be in the same areas we are also setting up sprinkler systems for the season.
