That happened yesterday in THREE different zip codes! I serviced the 83702, 83705, 83712, and 83716, and got new ones, and more than just one, in three of the areas. No worries if you are one of them, I always make return trips until they are all complete.

I made a tentative schedule up late last night and forgot to save it if some of you were wondering where it went when I mentioned it in the post. I actually corrected that and it is now visible in yesterday's post for those who want to take a look. Since we are getting a steady stream of more requests in, that schedule could easily change again. We will be hitting the 83709 and 73646 double-time this week because that is where the majority of our remaining blowout are. We will make our rounds though to all areas until there is none left, even if it kills me in the process…..

We picked up a total of 18 new sprinkler blowouts yesterday. Looks like we will be at this for awhile longer. I was hoping to be finished by December 5 with all sprinkler blowouts, but it may take me an extra day or to to finish them all. I will have an assistant on December 4 and 5, which is good, because those are near the end, and an extra person would be a great assett. I have decided not to take any new requests after December 4, but we shall see what happens. I could keep going, and going, and going, but frankly, I am getting tired. Nearly 1,000 blowouts without a day off except for Thanksgiving since October 10 when we started, can really tire one out. I am definitely not getting any younger.

When I started doing sprinkler blowouts 20 years ago this valley was still quite small. There was less than 10,000 people in Meridian at the time. Funny how I keep getting older each year, and the population increases at the same time. When I first started I was only doing about 100 sprinkler blowouts a year, and it has steadily increased each year.

Anyway, I am going to be doing sprinkler blowouts in the Boise 83704, 83706, and 83714 zip codes today, including one in Hidden Springs. There were a few from yesterday downtown I was unable to do because I couldn't find valve boxes, so going to try and squeeze them in as well.

For the usual, make sure to leave access through gates, valve boxes uncovered, checks made out to "The Maintenance Shop", etc., etc.

It amazes me how I can go several days without a new request in a particular area, but lo and behold when I service that area inevitably I find new ones in the same zip code as soon as I return to my office.
