We have completed all our sprinkler blowouts for this season except for a handful that need <g class=\"gr_ gr_10 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace\" id=\"10\" data-gr-id=\"10\">repaired<\/g> before they can be blown out, or ones that have backflows or filters on the surface that weren&#8217;t drained prior to our arrival that <g class=\"gr_ gr_9 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Grammar multiReplace\" id=\"9\" data-gr-id=\"9\">have<\/g> frozen where we can&#8217;t get to the &#8220;goods&#8221; underneath.\u00a0 Some we were able to thaw, but others can&#8217;t be because they are either <g class=\"gr_ gr_11 gr-alert gr_gramm gr_inline_cards gr_run_anim Punctuation only-del replaceWithoutSep\" id=\"11\" data-gr-id=\"11\">plastic,<\/g> or so close to the ground that we can&#8217;t do anything with it at this point.\u00a0 Here is a perfect example.\u00a0 Not only is this backflow device not installed correctly, (to the point where the water purveyor could turn off the water going to their home if it isn&#8217;t fixed,) there isn&#8217;t a blowout port, and it is frozen.\u00a0 As a licensed backflow tester and installer, I am supposed to inform the water purveyor of such things within 15 days of finding a problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"512\" height=\"1024\" src=\"http:\/\/www.treasurevalleyrepairs.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Attach44803_20181207_113939-512x1024.jpg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-3085\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.treasurevalleyrepairs.com\/blog\/home\/songman\/public_html\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Attach44803_20181207_113939.jpg 512w, https:\/\/www.treasurevalleyrepairs.com\/blog\/home\/songman\/public_html\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/12\/Attach44803_20181207_113939-150x300.jpg 150w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 512px) 100vw, 512px\" \/><figcaption>State law requires this PVB be 12&#8243; above the highest downstream source.&nbsp; Do you think this is close?<br><br><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">These PVB (Pressure Vacuum Breaker) froze for two reasons.&nbsp; 1. The water wasn&#8217;t turned off and unit drained by opening the test cocks and drain valve in the ground.&nbsp; 2.
