We had another person quit yesterday. It seems that most of our challenges occur with males in their 30s. A pattern is emerging, and I wonder if this job might be particularly challenging for some in that age group. Of course, this isn’t true for everyone\u2014Jesse, who\u2019s also in his 30s, has a strong work ethic. He gets frustrated when others give up on minor setbacks. We\u2019re all feeling pretty exasperated at this point. (Apologies if this is harsh, but it’s been tough for us.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We usually don\u2019t start working in Nampa and Caldwell until Halloween, and I can remember several years when we didn\u2019t set foot in Canyon County until then. The good news is that we\u2019re finishing Canyon County today and getting to about half of Star\u2014though Star wasn\u2019t scheduled until next week. The team has been working hard to keep up, especially with the gaps left by Alan, who left, came back, and then left again. We won’t be taking him back this time, not that I expect him to ask.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Despite some setbacks, we have completed 941 sprinkler blowouts so far. If we can bring on a few more technicians who aren’t afraid of hard work (a bit of sarcasm there), we could easily crush our list for the season!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
