Sprinkler blowouts went smoothly yesterday, except for six cases where customers failed to cancel despite reminders. A few days ago, I emailed 105 customers in the 83704 zip code, letting them know we\u2019d complete services in that area by the end of the week. I included a link for easy cancellation if they no longer needed service. This resulted in 9 cancellations, indicating that people were engaged.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I then sent a notification text to those on the route for yesterday in 83704 and received another five cancellations, which was promising. However, when we got into the field, we encountered six non-cancellations. With tracking software, we know who opened, deleted, or didn\u2019t open their email\u2014and all six customers had opened their email but still didn\u2019t cancel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

One customer even insisted they never signed up and spent over 30 minutes disputing it, despite the clear record of their request and notes like, \u201cI work from home, so hopefully I\u2019ll be there when you come to show you the boxes.\u201d It\u2019s hard not to laugh at the idea that we\u2019d randomly pick addresses, add names, emails, and phone numbers, and then fabricate detailed notes. This would be it if there were ever a conspiracy theory to rival the 1997 movie Conspiracy Theory<\/em>, with Mel Gibson and Julia Roberts.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On another note, the trainee working with Jesse yesterday didn\u2019t meet our standards, but that\u2019s okay\u2014this job is more challenging than many expect. We\u2019ll have another trainee starting on Wednesday and Thursday. Also, I got “The Grinch” machine up and running yesterday, so it\u2019ll be ready for our new technician when he starts working independently.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
