We’ve worked diligently and nearly have them all covered. Once we’ve completed those, we’ll immediately begin work on the next batch of tests with June 1 deadlines — so if you’re in that group, you’re already on our radar.

Our sprinkler startups are also in full swing, and we’re keeping up with the demand. With the warmer weather finally showing up, we’ll be scheduling system repairs starting next week, so if you’ve got a leaky zone or a finicky timer, help is on the way.

We’ve also been staying busy with lawn aerations. While we’ve completed quite a few, we’re temporarily pausing new aeration appointments until the second week of May so we can catch up on our other commitments. We apologize for the delay and appreciate your patience.

First and foremost, we’re making excellent progress wrapping up our backflow testing for customers with May 1 due dates. If you’ve been with us a while, you might remember Kelly, our US Marine friend and former team member. He’s returned to the crew, and we’re thrilled to have him back. Apparently, he missed us—or maybe just the donuts. Either way, it’s great to see his boots back on the ground.

This season has already brought several sprinkler main and drain repairs, and we’ve completed several. If you’ve noticed signs of underground leaks or water where there shouldn’t be any, we’re ready to take care of it quickly and professionally.

On a more personal note, the last couple of weeks have been incredibly difficult for our family. We’ve experienced two significant losses — one being the mother of my ex-wife and grandmother to my son, Jacob. Yes, we still maintain close ties with that part of our extended family. The second loss was Sheila’s father, who passed away peacefully on the Saturday evening before Easter at the age of 88½, in his favorite chair.

This has been an emotionally challenging time because we are a family-owned and operated business. As such, the Maintenance Shop office will be closed on Friday, May 2, to honor Sheila’s father at his funeral. Brian and Kelly may still be working in the field that day, but our office will be unavailable, and Jesse will also be off to be with family.

Thank you all for your continued support, kindness, and patience as we navigate a full season of work and life that has reminded us just how precious time and family are.

As the grass turns green and sprinklers start firing up across the valley, we wanted to take a few moments to update everyone on what’s happening at The Maintenance Shop—both in the field and behind the scenes.
