We\u2019re taking the show on the road today\u2014laptop and all\u2014as we head up to Garden Valley with our two-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog, Paisley. It\u2019s vet day for her: shots and a spay appointment at our favorite clinic up there. I\u2019ll be keeping an eye on our text messages and route progress as best I can between pit stops and puppy eyes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The appointment\u2019s at 8:15 a.m., which means leaving at the crack of yuck<\/em> to make it on time. While Paisley\u2019s in surgery and recovery, we\u2019ll probably camp out at the Garden Valley library for a few hours before heading back to Meridian. If all goes as planned, we should be back by around 3 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Meanwhile, our almost six-month-old Saint Bernard pup, Ziva, is going to be wondering where her sister went. Those two are practically joined at the hip\u2014except for the occasional trip to the groomer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The first day out didn\u2019t exactly go according to plan\u2014but then again, the first few never do. The day kicked off bright and early at 6:24 a.m. with a text from one of our techs letting us know he was quitting and would be returning his work phone. He didn\u2019t even make it to his first blowout.<\/p>\n\n\n\n After handling a few other minor curveballs, we finally hit the road. And honestly, for all the early-morning chaos, the day turned out pretty well for the start of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n I\u2019ve got plenty more I could add, but since I have to be up at the crack of yuck<\/em>, I\u2019m going to cut this one short and just roll with the route.
