Scam (2025 edition):<\/strong> noun<\/em> \u2014 A word people throw around whenever something doesn\u2019t go exactly their way, takes longer than expected, or requires them to take personal responsibility. In context, it\u2019s that mindset where \u201cif you don\u2019t instantly cater to my wishes, you must be a con artist.\u201d It\u2019s less about deception (the real definition) and more about entitlement, impatience, or lack of understanding of how business and logistics actually work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The real<\/em> definition, of course, is:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cA fraudulent or deceptive act or operation intended to cheat someone out of money or value.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n But in today\u2019s \u201ceverything\u2019s a scam\u201d culture, it\u2019s often used to mean:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cYou didn\u2019t do what I expected, therefore you\u2019re dishonest.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n The day went well yesterday, except for one hiccup \u2014 Challis\u2019s route phone decided to act up. I tried fixing it remotely like I normally do, but no luck this time, which left eight stops on his route unfinished. No worries, though \u2014 I got the phone fixed, and Challis will wrap those up today.<\/p>\n\n\n\n He\u2019s an iPhone user (poor soul), so he\u2019s not exactly fluent in Android just yet. There\u2019s hope, though \u2014 he\u2019s already talking about switching to an Android for his personal phone. There may be light at the end of the tunnel after all.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Challis is currently using an old iPhone 11 because he dropped his shiny new iPhone 15 into the Atlantic Ocean while fishing.
