First of all \u2014 happy birthday to my wife, Sheila!<\/strong>
We had her party yesterday, and as usual, I ate way too much cake. Between family and work, moderation clearly isn\u2019t my strong suit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019ve got a big family, so it feels like there\u2019s a birthday party every time I turn around \u2014 and yes, that means cake every time too. Last August we had five<\/em> birthdays spread throughout the month (including mine), so we decided to combine them all into one big celebration just to keep things under control. It was the only way to survive the sugar overload!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eddie knocked out his route like a champ yesterday, finishing everything except one stop where the valve boxes were hiding like they were in witness protection. He did some searching, but those boxes wanted no part of being found.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After wrapping up his own jobs, he jumped in to help Challis, who got a late start. Between the two of them, every single route was completed by the end of the day \u2014 which is always a nice way to wrap things up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, the trifecta didn\u2019t last. We had to send out two non-cancellation invoices \u2014 which is always a bummer, but part of the game this time of year. Still, overall, it was a smooth day in Sprinkler Blowout Land.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Ben\u2019s out there today in his own zip code making up for missing Thursday and only putting in a half-day Friday. He\u2019s on a personal redemption tour \u2014 and nothing says \u201cweekend warrior\u201d quite like hauling hoses while everyone else is still in pajamas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He\u2019s determined to get caught up and make sure everything evens out, which I appreciate. It\u2019s not easy getting back into rhythm after losing a day and a half, but Ben\u2019s putting in the work. I just hope he doesn\u2019t run that diesel too low again \u2014 I can only play mobile fuel truck once a week before they start calling me \u201cDiesel Daddy.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
