If you’ve filled up lately, you’ve probably noticed that gas prices are heading in the wrong direction again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s especially fun when you run six trucks pulling compressors all over the Treasure Valley every day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’ve already had to raise our sprinkler blowout price this year, and we’d really rather not make it a habit. So we’ve been looking at ways to reduce fuel costs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After extensive research, careful calculations, and absolutely no consideration whatsoever for the technician who would have to operate it, we think we’ve found the answer.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Behold: the future of sprinkler blowouts.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

An electric fat-tire bicycle pulling a Bobcat compressor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No gas. No oil changes. No truck repairs. And parking in downtown Boise just became a whole lot easier.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There are still a few minor engineering details to work out\u2014like stopping, going uphill, and what happens when a 2,000-pound compressor decides it wants to go faster than the bicycle towing it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re also having trouble finding volunteers for the Idaho City route.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But progress always comes with sacrifice.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So if you see one of our technicians pedaling down Eagle Road with a compressor gaining on him from behind, don’t worry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He’s not being chased. He’s saving fuel.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

DISCLAIMER:<\/strong> Yes, this is satire. No, we are not actually sending technicians out on electric bicycles towing compressors. We shouldn’t have to say that, but we’ve met people…….. \ud83d\ude02<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the meantime, we’ll keep doing sprinkler blowouts the old-fashioned way\u2014with trucks, compressors, and enough gasoline to personally support a small oil-producing nation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
