Election Day, Three Candidates, and the Circus Continues<\/h1>\n\n\n\n

Well, yesterday was surprisingly uneventful.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

No flat tires, dead batteries, broken-down trucks, or other mechanical disasters. Both Eddie and Jesse kept plugging away at sprinkler blowouts, and nobody had to call in the cavalry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re almost afraid to mention it. Around here, that’s usually how you tempt fate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three Candidates, One Position, Zero Paperwork<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Our search for one additional sprinkler blowout technician continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We currently have three candidates<\/strong> who have spoken with Jesse, and all three appear to have the experience and qualifications we’re looking for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

There’s just one little obstacle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

None of them has submitted the information we need to verify those qualifications.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Three candidates. One job. Zero paperwork.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Apparently, getting someone to submit their qualifications is harder than getting a sprinkler customer to read our blowout terms of service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And believe me, that’s saying something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We’re hopeful that at least one of these gentlemen will provide the necessary information so we can verify his experience, conduct an interview, and get some additional help before Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It’s Election Day!<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Today is Election Day!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Sheila and I voted last week, so we’ve already done our civic duty. Now we get to sit back and watch the results roll in.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

I have to admit, watching American politics these days is a little like watching a sprinkler system with a broken controller.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Everybody is running, nobody seems to know which direction, and sooner or later somebody gets soaked.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the campaign promises!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If I made as many promises to my customers as some politicians make to voters, I’d need about 40 technicians, 20 compressors, and a direct line to Santa Claus to get everything done.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, there’s one major difference between sprinkler blowouts and politics.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

When we say we’re going to blow something out, we actually get the job done.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Regardless of which side of the political fence you’re on, we hope everyone who hasn’t already voted takes the opportunity to do so.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After all, voting is one of the few times we get to tell politicians what we think without having to sit through a committee hearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And if your candidate wins, congratulations!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If your candidate loses, don’t worry. There will be another election, another campaign, and approximately 47 million more political commercials before you know it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Back to Business<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Eddie and Jesse are continuing through our remaining sprinkler blowout routes as we work toward finishing the season before Thanksgiving.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Please watch for your blowout notification, have gates unlocked and pets secured, and make sure your sprinkler equipment is accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you no longer need a blowout, please cancel BEFORE you get a notification that we are coming.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unlike political campaign promises, our scheduled routes aren’t just something we talk about. Our technicians actually show up and do the work.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Until Tomorrow…<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Here’s hoping for another productive day, no mechanical surprises, and perhaps some good news on the staffing front.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And whatever happens at the polls today, remember:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The election will eventually be over. Sprinkler blowout season will eventually be over.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, only one of those guarantees we’ll stop hearing about it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
