Sprinkler Blowouts For Thursday, October 23, 2025

Joe managed to get his alternator replaced early yesterday morning and was practically begging for a route — and let’s be honest, we can’t turn down that kind of enthusiasm, can we? I threw together a quick route for him, but it was more of a sneak attack than a planned mission. Since it came on suddenly, there wasn’t time to send out notifications. Most folks were thrilled to get their blowouts done and didn’t care about the hows, whys, or wheres — “get ‘er done.” We did hit a few locked gates, but that’s par for the course—no harm, no foul — just another day in Sprinkler Blowout Land.

There was an interesting moment Joe told me happened yesterday. He pulled up to a customer’s house and saw two guys from Sagehorn Landscape next door, already wrestling with their hose in the backyard. Joe hooked up, fired up the compressor, blew out his customer’s system, wrapped up, and was gone while they were still mid-zone. That’s why The Maintenance Shop runs like a NASCAR pit crew on espresso — fast, efficient, and stealthy.

We’re basically the ninjas of sprinkler blowouts. One customer actually told me that once — she left for ten minutes to take lunch to her kid at school, came back, saw water on the sidewalk but no sign of the tech, truck, or compressor. Then there was another time a customer only realized we’d been there because they saw water on the ground — their Ring camera didn’t even pick up our tech! We’re so fast, even the doorbell cameras can’t keep up.

Joking, of course… but honestly, I’ve had people knock on my own front door and Ring didn’t record it. We can land a rover on Mars and communicate with it every day, but have technology work flawlessly here on Earth? Not a chance. 🚀📷💨

On another note, I FINALLY got the stats page up and running. It was supposed to be done two weeks ago, but when one guy is doing the work of five people, things can get a little hectic. I spend most of my day polishing my chair with my keester while staring at four monitors, trying to keep this circus running.

One monitor is for text communication, one is for my calendar for scheduling, one tracks routing so I can see where my techs and rigs are at all times, and the last one is for form submissions coming in. On top of that, I’ve usually got about ten tabs open on each monitor, switching back and forth like an overcaffeinated air-traffic controller.

And at my age, I’ll open a new tab, stare at it for ten seconds, and forget why I opened it in the first place. It’s basically a high-tech game of hide-and-seek — only the thing hiding is my memory. 💻☕🧠

Hi Steve – thanks for getting the Stats page up.

You have have already been told about this, but your blog link to the stats page is broken. The link text on the page shows https://treasurevalleyrepairs.com/sprinkler-blowout-stats.html, but the actual link goes to https://treasuarevalleyrepairs.com/sprinkler-blowout-stats.html (there’s an extra “a” in treasure).

Just thought you’d like to know.
