Sprinkler Blowouts For Friday, October 10, 2025

Nothing too exciting to report from Sprinkler Blowout Land yesterday. I spent a few hours tinkering with Cyclone and managed to rule out a bunch of things that aren’t the problem—still haven’t quite nailed down what is. We’re narrowing it down, though, one eliminated part at a time. At this rate, Cyclone and I might both need a tune-up.

For those who didn’t know, Jesse left us for another job after 11 years of service. You know what they say — the grass is always greener… until it needs mowing. He got his hours in for the week at his new job and wanted something to do — and let’s be honest, a little “mo” money never hurts. So, he asked if he could run a route for us today. Since we’re still shorthanded, I jumped at the chance. One more route rolling means one step closer to catching up.

Jesse usually runs Cyclone, but since she’s still down, he’ll be taking Purple Rain out today. She ain’t exactly purty, but she runs like a champ — kind of like that old truck you’d never take on a date but wouldn’t trade for anything.

Joe’s back with us today and will be running a rig again tomorrow. Even though he was only gone for a day, it’s good to have him back — he really has his act together, and things just run smoother when he’s around.

I haven’t had much time to get the calendar updated with all the staffing upheaval lately, but I’ll be working on it this weekend. Just keep in mind — that schedule is tentative at best. Something always seems to come along and throw a wrench in my planning… locked gates, problem systems, you name it. Honestly, if everything ever went according to schedule, I’d probably faint — and then reschedule that, too.
