Update: Oops. Had 40 customers tell me this morning that my post didn’t go out.
Yesterday we had several properties with system issues, which put us behind schedule. And then there is Daylight Savings Time. Every year I post how I hate Daylight Savings Time. We lose an hour that we need for blowouts, and with two machines that can be 5-6 blowouts PER DAY that would normally get done. We can’t start an hour earlier, because most people don’t like us showing up before 8 a.m.
We have a lot of new customers this year as well that know mostly nothing about sprinkler systems, so while we are there we try to educate them as quickly as we can, which takes a little more time out of our day, but they need to know the basics.
We currently have around 128 blowouts in the 83646, which we will get most if not all completed before we move on. We get new ones in this zip every day, but the ones who have waited the longest are getting priority unless a new one just happens to be on the same street close by. There are times we do blowouts in an area where one person has waited two weeks for our arrival while another only waited two days that is across the street. One of our really longtime customers was surprised to see us show up 10 minutes after he put in his form because we just happened to be driving by his house when it came in and I thought it would be funny to catch him off guard, which it did. Even after all these years when he has waited 2-3 weeks, he has remained a customer because he knows we will get to him.
Today Jesse will be working in the area he was yesterday to get it finished up, while I will be continuing my route westward between Ustick and Fairview. I need to finish up some between Locust Grove and Meridian Road, and then start on the area between Meridian Road and Linder. (Still between Ustick and Fairview/Cherry Lane.
Tomorrow, as a heads up, I will be working in the area within the border of McMillan and Ustick, and Locust Grove and Meridian Road, while Jesse will be between Meridian Road and Linder.
I will get back to texting customers once we get the list down some for the area. By the time I get it all figured out for the next day it is too late to do texting.
Do you have a map of approximate dates for areas of Boise? I have 2 homes on your list, one in Ironwood Subdivision and the other in Charter Pointe Subdivision.
I was going to try and put together a tentative schedule tonight, but going to wait another day because we will have our 3rd rig out tomorrow, and want to see how it does before I put a schedule together. We have had some issues with that compressor, but it’s been around a long time. I have personally done about 11,000 blowouts with that machine. It was my first. I think I have it fixed now, so will make a test run tomorrow. If it performs well I will keep it on the road.
