Veterans Day Reflection
Today isn’t just another day on the calendar — it’s a day to stop, stand still for a moment, and pay respect to those who wore the uniform before us, beside us, and after us. Veterans Day carries a weight that only grows heavier with time. It’s not about glory or politics — it’s about sacrifice, service, and the quiet pride that comes from knowing you gave a part of yourself to something bigger than you.
It’s also a day to recognize the faces and voices of those who still walk among us — the men and women who stood shoulder to shoulder through long nights, tough missions, and harder mornings, and who now serve their communities with that same sense of duty. Freedom isn’t free, and the people who’ve worn the uniform know exactly what that means.
So, to my brothers and sisters in arms — and to every family who carried the load behind the scenes — I salute you. You’re the reason this country keeps moving forward, even when the road gets rough.
I usually give this day off to techs who are military veterans, but right now, there aren’t any on the team except me — and unfortunately, I don’t get to clock out. I run this company much like I ran my team in the military: with a constant presence, staying in the fight, and doing whatever it takes to keep things running smoothly.
There’s no such thing as “standing down” when you’re the one holding it all together — you keep adapting, adjusting, and making sure your crew has what they need to succeed. Old habits die hard, but in this case, I’d say they’ve served me — and The Maintenance Shop — pretty well.
