Sprinkler Blowouts In Middleton, Star, And Some Cleanup

Yesterday was cut short by my wife's birthday, but covered most of the homes on my route for the day except for four.  I will try to get them finished after Middleton and Star. There are only 1 in Middleton and 16 in Star unless some cancellations came in for the area.  There will be no posted route for the day because we should have no problem completing the Middleton and Star blowouts.  I will try to get text reminders out early in the morning.

Today the price goes up for new sprinkler blowout requests as it does every year on November 10. The price increase is to try and slow down new requests, but it rarely works. It is also because as we finish areas it makes it more cost effective to reach them.

We haven't updated our stats page in several days, and hope that will be coming soon as time permits.  I will say that we have already surpassed last year's sprinkler blowout requests by more than 100, and I am sure we will get more in, and even with cancellations we should have a new record.

I appreciate those who have donated funds for the Meridian Food Bank Turkey Drive, but surprised there isn't more.  We have had a total of 5 donations; $50, $30, $25, $20, and $5 for a total of $130. Much appreciated, but surprised that is all the response that we received with over 1,000 people contacted.  The donate button is showing below.

The drive runs for us between 6-8 p.m. tonight, so there is still time to donate if you wish.  We will pick up remaining turkeys once I am done for the day on sprinkler blowouts.

    Hi Steve,

Just wanted to make a small comment on the lack of donations and your expectation of receiving more than what you have.  Everybody knows that to get a Charitable Giving tax deduction, tax credit, etc. that you have to give directly to the organization and not through a third party such as yourself.  This very may well be the reason you're not receiving more donations.  Don't worry, we are all still doing our part! 🙂  Thanks for understanding and doing your part.

I think I will have to disagree with you on that one. It would be no different and buying turkeys yourself or any other item and donating it. You save your receipt for tax time. Those who donated to my turkey Drive only need to keep the receipt that says Meridian Food Bank turkey Drive

Ok, you are correct if an individual donates and then receives a receipt from the non-profit organization.  That is not in the detailed information that you put forth for the people donating to your PayPal account.  That detail was probably just missed because you're doing so many other jobs/tasks at this time.  I hope you get a ton of donations Steve.  I personally will do cash donations to this, and other Food Banks, and get those receipts directly for tax purposes.  Thanks again for all you do!
