Sprinkler Blowouts For Monday, October 29, 2018

Jesse went through the remainder of the 83687 yesterday while I tied up loose ends in Middleton and Star, and then started in the 83651.  We made a big dent in the 83651, and only have about 10 there to finish today and then we move on to the 83686.  Justin will finish the 83651 while I work in the 83686, and then join me after he is finished.  We will spend Tuesday in the 83686 as well, and then move on to Parma, Melba, and Caldwell for about two days.  Finally we go to Hidden Springs and Garden City and it all starts over again in the Meridian 83646.

We started the season in the Meridian 83646, so we have almost completed our first round.  We will make several trips to any and all areas as new requests come in and stop taking requests on December 2.  We could go further, but I don’t want to.

As per every year at this time, the ground is still quite warm, so you newbies that don’t understand science, or Idaho weather, it doesn’t matter what the air temperature is, the ground temperature where you sprinkler piping is stays above freezing until mid-December usually, and sometime longer.  I take a ground temperature reading every morning before I take off for the day, and I have seen a fluctuation of between 56-62 degrees 6 inches down.  A few weeks ago when it got down to 29 degrees the ground temperature was 58.  (32 degrees is freezing, but even then it will take a while to create havoc on your system.

So far this year we have 205 cancellations, and all but 7 of them are new customers.  Obviously because the newbies don’t understand how we do things, or why we do them the way we do, so they cancel.  Anyone who has stayed with us for several years will tell you there is nothing to worry about.  There are approximately 750 repeat customers so far this year.  Many of them have been with us for 10 years or more.

We have completed 728 blowouts in the last three weeks, so we are moving at a great pace……  Stick around, it’ll be fun, but if you don’t like fun, go ahead and cancel and 5 more will take your place within an hour……  No hard feelings…….  🙂
