I attempted to do blowouts yesterday but I didn’t get very far at all. I thought I was doing better yesterday morning because I fixed a hose issue on Jacob’s machine and thought I could at least work until noon so I could get ready for the funeral, but that didn’t go as planned. I finished ONE blowout and nearly collapsed and had to return home. I didn’t even have the energy to go to the funeral. Jesse worked until about noon in the 83713 and went to the funeral, and Jacob worked the entire day in Garden City.
I have shut down the form on our site so we will not get any more requests and we can concentrate on what we have left. I usually don’t shut down until December 1, but because of sickness it has put us behind and I don’t want to be doing blowouts until the second week of December. We like to be finished up by Friday in the first week of the month.
Jesse is filling in for me today while I take care of personal business. He will finish up the remainder of the 83713 and then go over to Garden City. He will likely not finish Garden City today but will have him finish on Monday and then go to the 83712. After that, we will finally be concentrating on Boise 83709 and both sides of Meridian. We have such a large amount to do in the three largest areas that they will go more quickly than some of the other areas because they are so close together. The Boise 83709 and all of Meridian make up nearly half of all our sprinkler blowouts during the season.
My plan next year is to pick up two more machines and keep one in Meridian full-time because Meridian alone equals about a third of all our sprinkler blowouts. The biggest issue is finding qualified personnel to run the machines when there is already a shortage of blowout technicians in the valley as is. We will be needing more help next year with all of our repair services, but especially sprinkler system repair.
