Sprinkler Blowout Land — Sink Or Swim!
Welcome to another exciting episode of Sprinkler Blowout Land, where we’re apparently trading our work boots for swim fins!
It’s officially Friday, and according to the weather forecast, Mother Nature has decided to celebrate by giving the Treasure Valley a good soaking.
Rain is expected to continue until approximately 1 p.m. today, assuming the weather report is correct. And we all know how reliable those can be.
Apparently, Mother Nature heard we were trying to get the water out of sprinkler systems and decided to put some of it back.
She’s a real team player.
We’re considering adding a new qualification to our sprinkler blowout technician job description:
Must be proficient in the backstroke, breaststroke, and operating an air compressor while wearing a life jacket.
Snorkeling experience preferred.
Jesse didn’t quite make it through his entire route yesterday, leaving four properties unfinished. Those four have been added to today’s route, assuming he doesn’t have to navigate the neighborhood in a canoe.
And before anyone asks, no, we don’t offer a discount if your sprinkler valve box has turned into a swimming pool.
That’s actually when finding the valves becomes a competitive sport.
The good news is that a little rain doesn’t automatically stop us from working. We’ve dealt with rain, mud, cold, wind, and just about everything else Idaho weather can throw at us.
We just prefer our technicians to arrive at your house in a truck rather than floating down the street on an inflatable flamingo.

A few reminders for today:
- Please make sure gates are unlocked and pets are secured
- If your valve boxes are full of water, access may take a little extra time
- If conditions become unsafe or prevent us from completing a property, we’ll adjust the route as necessary
And if you happen to see Jesse doing the backstroke down your driveway, don’t panic.
He’s probably just looking for the main shutoff.
Until next time, keep your powder dry, your valve boxes visible, and your Coke Zero above the waterline.
