Sprinkler Blowouts For Monday, October 20, 2025

Every day, my phone lights up like a Christmas tree with people texting for updates. I remind them that we send out notifications the night before to anyone we will be servicing the next day —just like it says in the Terms they agreed to, and in the confirmation email they received, and, oh yes, also on the blog that’s mentioned in both. And that’s usually when I get the universal reply: “Huh?!” Apparently, reading the info that’s been sent three times now requires a secret decoder ring I forgot to issue this year. I knew I forgot something!

It looks like the great T-Mobile text blockade has finally lifted! I can actually send messages to family and employees again without them vanishing into the void. Not sure if someone came to bat for me, or if T-Mobile just got bored blocking my texts and decided to move on to harassing someone else. Either way, I’ll take the win—communication is back on the menu for now.

By the way, if you scroll down to the bottom of each post, you’ll see a Subscribe button. That little box isn’t just for sprinkler season — it’s your all-access pass to everything we post year-round. Sometimes it’s funny, sometimes it’s a rant, and sometimes it’s all three at once, but it’s always useful. Tap it once, enter your email, and voilà — every time I post an update, it’ll magically appear in your inbox. No hunting, no refreshing, no “Did you send a text?” messages—just pure Maintenance Shop goodness, straight from my keyboard to your eyeballs. Even T-Mobile can’t block my posts.

As our loyal readers know from Saturday’s post, Joe had two sick kids at home and couldn’t run his route. He’s back in action today, making up for lost time — and we tossed in a few new stops just to keep him humble. Eddie had a solid day Saturday until Purple Rain decided its battery could no longer keep up with the workload. Kind of like me before my first Coke Zero of the day — and if you know me, you know that’s by the gallon. Honestly, this time of year, I need a Coke Zero IV-drip to get through the workday. We swapped in a new battery, so Eddie’s ready to finish Saturday’s route with a few bonus stops for good measure. Ben, on the other hand, wrapped up his route Saturday like a pro and will be back today to tackle another one.

Jesse spent part of the weekend getting the new reel installed on Orange Julius, so it’s almost ready for action — all we need now is someone worthy to operate it. I’ll be diving back into the candidate pile today, searching for that rare gem who not only knows how to handle sprinkler blowouts but can also navigate the highly sophisticated, mildly temperamental, and totally proprietary tracking and payment system I built myself. Of course, if I get desperate, I may drop the qualifications altogether and make the only requirement having a pulse.

Any idea when 83642 will be in schedule again?

We will be back in the 83642 this week, but we won’t finish the zip code. It takes several trips to finish Meridian, and we get new requests every day

I understand Timber Flat Road in Ola, 83658, is on schedule for today, 10-21-25. The gates are open but no one will be there until 1:30 if you need assistance. You have blown it out many times so perhaps you do not need personal assistance.

Howdy! You were the last stop of the day, and our tech started having issues with his alternator and didn’t want to get stuck all the way out there, so unfortunately, I will have to reschedule your blowout for another day.

Will you be in Eagle soon? 83616

Yes. As soon as we make an appearance in a few more zip codes we haven’t been to yet we will circle around and start over. We make several trips around the valley until all are complete.
