Sprinkler Blowouts Begin On October 3

Everyone who fills out a sprinkler blowout request this season will see a new section on the form asking for backflow information and even includes some pictures so if you have a backflow preventer, you can choose the one that appears to be the one that most closely resembles the one you have. The pictures show the most common types, for it would take up too much space to show every possible one available.

We will be starting sprinkler blowouts on October 3 and as always, we will be starting with locations that have backflow preventers which is why we added it to the form to make it easier for us to plan our routes early on. We usually work Idaho City and the Boise 83716 the first two days out since it tends to get colder in those locations faster than anywhere else.

This season will be interesting, to say the least. One of our friends and closest competitor who does as many if not more blowouts than we do usually, is again limiting his service area. He will be servicing Star, Middleton, and Caldwell only, which leaves his biggest area, Meridian, in the lurch. He is sending all his customers our way, which means a major increase in our workload. We will be in need of 2-3 more technicians to handle the increase, and we will need at least one more machine. I won’t get another machine unless we have a technician to run it.

As we have done for the last several years, when we are going to be at your location you will get a text the night before, and the routes for each day will be posted on this blog at or around midnight of the day of service. We will also be posting projected zip codes we will be in as far in advance as we can, but just because we are going to be in a particular zip code, it doesn’t mean we will be at your property. It depends on the number of blowouts we have in that zip code. The best way to know if we will be at your property is if you get a text the night before, or you check this blog for your street. The BEST way to know if we are going to be at your location is this blog. We can’t control whether your carrier will let our texts or especially our emails through. We have total control over our blog and in the last 20 years the blog has only been down twice, and they were several years apart.

As always, you can comment here at any time, and the best way to get hold of us, especially during blowouts is by text at (208) 713-3170 where I can communicate by computer with up to 20 people at once. If you have a question, please make sure it hasn’t already been answered either here on the blog, or on our calendar. Even being able to communicate with 20 people at once by computer, I can’t get other duties completed during the day to make sure everything is running smoothly. It takes a lot of work to keep track of 75 to 100+ blowouts being completed each day.
