We start today on our 6-8 week journey into Sprinkler Blowout Land. It is the most extended hours, and most challenging days of the season, and definitely separates the men from the boys so to speak. The first week is usually crazy anyway as we train new technicians and go through our list to pick out those that are on city water and have backflow preventers installed. We tackle city, well, and pump systems as we wait for pressurized irrigation to shut down around the valley.
I will actually be out in the field today training Austin. I haven’t been out in the field on blowouts since training day of 2020. I have personally done over 25,000+ blowouts over the years, and with health issues I am facing I just can’t do them anymore. Right now I have a horrible head cold, so that will make today even more fun. Since there are only two of us available for training, we will only have two machines out today, and hopefully three on Wednesday and Thursday, and the four out on Friday.
