🔧 OJ Has Clocked Out for the Season
Orange Julius—OJ, our orange compressor—has decided its sprinkler blowout season is over.
Unfortunately, it delivered that announcement by shattering its starter housing. Pieces of the aluminum casing are now inside the flywheel area, which is a poor place to store spare parts.
We’ve decided to hold off on the repair and shut OJ down for the remainder of the season. Retrieving those pieces and sorting out the repair will wait until the season is over.

Apparently, OJ reviewed the November workload and requested time off. When that request wasn’t immediately approved, it submitted the supporting documentation.
Message received. I would have preferred an email.
Eventually, we’ll get to play a very expensive version of a jigsaw puzzle: fitting the recovered casing pieces together to help determine whether we’ve found them all. No picture on the box, questionable access to the pieces, and absolutely no entertainment value.
For now, OJ gets to sit out the rest of the season while the rest of us continue working.
Try not to look too comfortable over there.
📬 Today’s Service Notifications
Email and text notifications for today’s service went out last night.
Please have your property ready:
- Gates accessible
- Pets secured
- Valve boxes visible, with the lids left on
- Sprinkler timer accessible if needed
If paying by check, please make it payable to The Maintenance Shop.
🚫 Already Had Your System Winterized?
If another company has already completed your blowout, please submit the cancellation form.
That information does not automatically appear in our records. Until you cancel, your property remains on our service list.
Customers who fail to cancel and require an unnecessary service visit will be charged a trip fee.
The form takes considerably less time than explaining to a technician at your gate that you meant to fill it out.
Thank you for helping us keep the season moving—and a special thank-you to the equipment that continues showing up without scattering pieces of itself around.
The bar is not particularly high, but we appreciate the effort.
